Tips to Choose a Right Mattress for You

Mattress is one such thing that  you will use daily for sleep and if it is not comfortable then for sure you will not have a relaxed sound sleep. This will affect your daily chores at home and in the office because all the time you will feel sleepy. Also the wrong selection of mattress can lead to back or neck pain.

Buying the right mattress for you is not difficult all that you need to do is take care of certain things before buying.

The Way You Sleep Will Define the Type of Mattress
If you are a side sleeper then most of your body pressure will fall on the shoulders and hips. Buy the mattress that has more cushioning or has extra topper thickness.

If you sleep on your back then you body pressure will be evenly distributed along you body. You do not have to worry about the softness of the mattress. You can buy the one on harder side as you will not face any back problem then. Generally soft mattresses does not support the shape of spinal cord and natural curves of your body so not recommended.

Your Budget
Market is full of different kinds and styles of mattress. Higher the quality higher will be the price. So you must plan your budget before buying mattress for your bed. You will get a right mattress that will fit in your budget and comfort.

Measure the Size of Your Bed
Mattress is a part of bedding that goes over the bed. So size of your bed greatly matters in selecting the mattress. Take the measuring tape and note down the dimensions of your bed. Ideally a bed should be 4 inches longer than the tallest sleeper.

Check Coil Count, Coil Construction, Coil Design

Coils provide support to the body so it is important to know about them before buying the mattress.

  • Coil count today is not that critical as it used to be. A typical mattress must have 300 or more coil count.
  • 300 for a full or standard mattress
  • 375 for a queen
  • 450 for a king-size mattress

More than coil count it is the way coils have been constructed matters. In some mattress you will find less coil count but yet these are too good. Here the thickness of wire in the coil, working turns and tempering are considered. More the number of working turns softer and more durable the mattress will be. In tempering, the coils are heated and cooled for durability and retention of shape for a longer period of time. If the mattress has the double heat tempered mattress coil then the mattress will be more durable.

Under the design part most commonly you will see the Hourglass Coils, Pocketed Coils and Continuous coils.

Warranty also Matters in Mattress Buying
Buy the mattress that has at least ten years of warranty. Also check the proportion. This is the amount that the mattress manufacturer will give back to the buyer if the mattress is imperfect. Purchase the accessories like mattress covers and other that are covered in warranty. Often purchasing something different will void the warranty that generally is not told to the buyers.

What is the Outside Cover of the Mattress?
The mattress that you are going to buy has the out fabric cover. Make sure that it is cotton or cotton blends as this is the most breathable fabric. You can also purchase the one having bamboo fabric as this natural fabric has the antibacterial properties that no other fabric has.
